What’s the meaning of “meaningful use”? And what can it mean for you??
Physicians who are successful in establishing “meaningful use” of electronic health records will be eligible to receive up to $64,000 in incentive bonuses, payable over a five-year period, starting in 2011 and ending in 2016. These payments are intended to cover the costs associated with installing and maintaining an EHR system. However, to receive incentive funds, your EHR system must comply with meaningful use criteria.
