sustainable workforceLISTA’s greatest strength has always been the network of Latino IT professionals who inspire our programs and forever further our goals. To give our community a head start on emerging job opportunities in the changing field of healthcare, LISTA National Latino Alliance on Health Information Technology will integrate HIT proficiency/HIPAA certification into our proven model of professional development and recruitment.

LISTA National Latino Alliance on Health Information Technology will cultivate the next generation of HIT professionals by:

• Bringing HIT training/certification to our existing base of IT professionals to expand their marketable skills
• Encouraging HIT training/certification among Latino students and beginner-level IT workers
• Helping Hispanic-serving businesses take advantage of publicly-funded economic stimulus (job creation)   programs
• Implementing a job listing function on our website that will pair IT professionals with medical offices and HIT   vendors

“NLA-HIT is putting together a Sustainable Workforce Committee of community leaders with expertise in job creation. Committee members understand that Latinos must be proportionally represented in America’s economic future and have firsthand knowledge of HIT and how it affects IT and medical professionals.
